June 3, 1918

Dear Violet:-
Thanks very much indeed for the two books by Ernest Poole which you had sent to me. I have read “His Family” and enjoyed it & am well started on the other one. The books sent by Norman & the money arrived yesterday with Dr. Campbell. Please thank him for the same and tell him not to bring too many books with him when he next comes out. The 2nd volume of Morley is about all I will be able to manage before another week is over & then who knows but that we may start for Fort Leavenworth soon?

There is little news here. We take walks in the morning & read or study or talk in the afternoons & evenings. I have come to like several of the fellows very much & all of them better than at first.

Hope the chicks are all well. Please give
