THE FELLOWSHIP OF RECONCILIATION
118 East 28th Street, New York City

June 3, 1918

My dearly Beloved:
I’m sending two letters to you from Evan which I couldn’t help opening. I wrote him saying I thought the court would act before sending COs to Leavenworth & suggesting rather cautiously service with the Friends Unit. At last I heard from Miss ____ [illegible name] who makes a total bill of $46 (20) for that miserable ground glass which had to be made to order. Otherwise it seemed reasonable tho it included $4 for the back yard. However she said she hadn’t made up her mind about the bath room as she was not sure what she would do about the house! I wrote post haste asking an immediate answer. Again she gave no

address! So I tried both Bklyn [Brooklyn] & 220 (where I know she doesn’t live). Such is life. I don’t think her $46 excessive.

Otherwise there is no great news & the town is not even awfully excited about a possible air raid.

Have just come back from dining with Walter & Crystal – a pleasant evening. Their house is lovely. Am thinking some of trying to catch the 6.12 up to-morrow reaching Ketorah 7.38. Will phone if I am coming.

Kiss the chicks. Dearest love to you.
